Welcome. This is the Asian Independent Publishing Wiki (AIPW), created to reflect on and survey the ecosystem of independent publishing in Asia. Everyone both within and beyond the Asian independent publishing network.
Independent publishing in Asia is dispersed and fragmentary, largely grounded in small-scale publishing led by individuals or collectives. While loose solidarities are formed through events such as book fairs and exhibitions, there is also a persistent lack of spaces for open interaction. The Asian Independent Publishing Wiki seeks to connect, through hyperlinks, the conditions that shape today’s independent publishing environment in Asia — including individuals, collectives, publishers, print shops, distributors, bookstores, and book fairs.
How to Use
- Anyone is free to contribute to the Asian Independent Publishing Wiki. Anything related to the Asian independent publishing environment is welcome.
- The Asian Independent Publishing Wiki does not have a unified primary language. We believe this is an important characteristic of Asia, and therefore adopt it as a wiki policy, even at the cost of data inefficiency.
